I gotta say how knocked out I was with your work backing up Roy Orbison with K.D. Lang, and Bonnie Raitt on the PBS special. To me, you guys were a set of "doo-wah chicks" for the ages, and he will live on forever. Thanks again. --Steve Brennan, Northeast USA |

I just wanted to say that Ms. Warnes' version of "First We Take Manhattan" is one of my all-time favorite songs. Her voice is incredible and adds a huge amount to the feeling and atmosphere of one of the greatest recordings of all time! --Andrew Foote |

Jennifer is a national treasure. Her voice, technique, delivery and choice of material are unsurpassed. She lightens my world when it becomes small, heavy and dark. But she encourages me most because she is loyal to her family, and she honors her friends and colleagues. --Mary Cadney |

Only yesterday did I become aware of the part you played in saving the world from Communism. I well remember the era of your essay and the terrifying wail of those civil defense sirens. So I would like to add my thanks to those expressed by Leonard Cohen. --Peter Banfield |

Hello Jennifer,
I am not one who has a lot (of) music in my collection. I have always preferred to listen to the radio for variety. And I have only had one female singer whom I would always stop what I was doing to hear your songs. I still love "Right Time of the Night" and " I Know a Heartache." Love your voice. (Listening to your Christmas songs as I work) Always a fan. Wishing you all the best. --Ron |

Good lord. The live recording of "Joan of Arc" is the most euphoric cut off of any album I've ever heard. But still, my favorite track (of all time, on any album) is "Song of Bernadette" You are sublime. --Richard Gorelik |

I have yet to catch my breath from the emotion of "Prairie Melancholy"... when here comes this stunning "Famous Blue Raincoat" package. The additional cuts-- I can't believe such beauty has remained hidden away for so many years. I'm so happy you've let them out into the sunshine. Emily Dickinson once wrote: If I feel so cold that no fire will ever warm me, then I know that is poetry. If I feel as if the top of my head was physically taken off, then I know that is poetry. Is there another way to know it? It expresses how Jennifer's singing on the live "Joan of Arc," with her building wave near the song's conclusion, makes me feel... although words can hardly express how deeply I adore her and her artistry. --Mitch Gallob |

Your song "Song of Bernadette" is full of impossible hope.
When you are content, you forget that everything will change.
When you are lost, you need to let go of reason and just have hope.
Some music can heal. Song of Bernadette has that quality. --Shay |

As we get older, we notice that intelligence, maturity, and wisdom still are no match to emotions and the heart. Jennifer provides us a means to navigate and find a light at the edge of the forest of the human heart. I am living the constant pain of being separated from a loved one. Some of my few un-tarnished childhood memories revolve around Famous Blue Raincoat and your beautiful voice providing peace in an oft' chaotic environment. 20 years later, every song, every word, every NOTE cuts to the deepest part of me. It's so rare to find a singer who truly sings from the heart without stylized artifice. Commercialism so often wins out over pure simple feeling. Music with that kind of honesty transcends musical and cultural boundaries; really it's the only kind of music worth listening to. --Brad Hurley (Montréal, Québec) |

I bought Famous Blue Raincoat because I am a stereo geek and all of the stereo geeks go on about the sound of that recording. The audio rags reference the recording when auditioning equipment. Something happened during the listening tests. While coldly observing set up and the timbre of tweeters, I fell in love with your voice. --Greg Boggs |

I have seen Norma Rae many, many times. The movie was about truth, humanity and triumph of the spirit. They couldn't have used a more fitting singer or song to portray all those traits. I love the texture and soul that you so beautifully express. Such a haunting melody and arrangement that makes me feel as though I am floating down a slow moving river shaded by beautiful trees and caressed by warm summer breezes. Thank you for that feeling and thank you for your beautiful voice. --David |
